* "...in the booklet with the Mosaic box (MR6-127): (quote) Candid 9006 was also issued in mono as 8006. All other Candid issues are 1987 British releases, reviving the original Candid number series... (unquote).
This is quite questionable. What we can say for shure is that 8006/9006 THE WORLD OF CECIL TAYLOR was
released 1961, and it was available in Europe in September of that year already

* "A very old edition of Mike Hames' Taylor sesionography lists CBS Sony SONF01107 without a title. I can confirm the existence of an lp entitled "The Cecil Taylor All Stars featuring Buell Neidlinger". I believe they are one and the same. I am also pretty sure... that the contents are the same as what was later released on Candid/Black Lion 9013, "Jumpin' Punkins". The cover artwork is different. Hames discography ends in 1973. I first heard the CBS Sony recording on a WKCR Taylor festival in March of 1979. All of this suggests a release date sometime in the 1970's, perhaps near to that of the Barnaby issue, i.e., early 70's. --Ed Rhodes, posting to Cecil Taylor Research Group 04.05.22
** "Nat Henthoff's liner notes to Barnaby KZ 31035, "New York City R&B", are dated November 1971. Since the release date would have to be after this, it may well have been 1972." --Ed Rhodes, posting to Cecil Taylor Research Group 04.05.22
"A selection out of the original series has been reissued on the Barnaby label in the US in 1972, distributed by CBS in Europe as well as in Japan. Album titles have been changed for these reissues, such as THE WORLD Of CECIL TAYLOR
(9006) becomes AIR (Barnaby 30562) --Lukas Lindenmaier, posting to CT Research Group 04.05.23
*** "I do think there has been an original release of 8017/9017 NEW YORK R&B in 1961-62. The original Candid releases at the time used the series numbers from 8001 up to 8022 (var. artists, THE NEWPORT REBELS) at least. However, there is no trace of an 8013/9013 in old catalogues/listings, possibly for superstitious reasons, and they might have omitted the 8017/9017 for whatever reasons as well ..." --Lukas Lindenmaier, posting to CT Research Group 04.05.23
